Come on over to my house! We are having a taffy pull in the basement.
If you cannot make it, chillax. It’s just weather. You will be fine. And your building does have a storm shelter. You just don’t know where it is.
In a worst case scenario, grab all four corners of the biggest bedsheet you can find. The tornado will take you clear to Oz.
Hope to see you soon!

Grab onto pipelines, anything that goes deep under ground.

stand in the stairwell or the bathroom in your apartment. Get to the center of the apartment … open a window (yes to relieve the air pressure build-up) and stay away from all windows.

Get in the basement or a friend’s basement. If you don’t have friends, go to a public place that’s underground such as an underground parking garage. An underground parking garage might get very windy, so hang on.

Go to the lowest level of the building. This is the time to get friendly with your bottom neighbors. Get into an interior room such as a bathroom. Take covers, pillows, water, battery operated radio, flashlight, and some sort of noise maker just in case you are trapped in debris and rubble. It really doesn’t matter if you open windows as previously mentioned or keep them closed. This is just a myth and can actually increase the risk of high winds getting into the apartment.

Find a room with no windows, a bathroom or closet, and stay there until the tornado passes. Do not try to leave, you will run the risk of being hit by flying debris or having debris collapsing on you. Take some water, food, your cell phone, and a first aid kit with you when you go into the closet. Good luck.

Spin the opposite direction, no but seriously cover yourself with matress or pillows and get in a room without windows, try to be towards the center of a building not the outside, and hold ontosomething that is rooted good like a pipe. or a tree that is growing through your house.
