Earthquake Questions
I am particularily interested in the one that occured in 1994 in Bolivia in the Nazca slab.
Could you elaborate?

It means the subducting slab ("deep" earthquakes ONLY occur at subduction zones) is stil competent and indicates several things:
1) A high subduction velocity, that has not allowed;
2) significant melting to make the plate "plastic" (i.e. the rocks are still brittle and hence the earthquake)
