Earthquake Questions
Hey. Just wondering, what is the name of the fault line in Virginia called and where in Virginia is it located? I know we have one here somewhere but I don’t know the name of it and where it is. I have felt a few in my lifetime and including last night so yeah…
Thanks
Nevermind, I did some more extensive research on it and found that Virginia has 7 fault lines:
Mountain Run Fault, Brookneal Fault, Shores Fault, Lakeside Fault, Spotsylvania Fault, Hylas Fault

It is the Virginia Seismic Zone – the earthquake in 2003 near Richmond was due to a slip along the Lakeside fault in this zone. It is part of the Piedmont region which extends from New Jersey to Alabama.
