What is more important – people dying in earthquakes in Africa or the Super Bowl?

Earthquake Questions
The media did not report much on the earthquakes – is it because people were more interested in the Super Bowl? I care nothing about the Super Bowl and heard about it all day but did not hear anything about the earthquakes until the next morning which was over 12 hours later.

Let me put this in a very nice way: Of course people dying in earthquakes are a lot more, and when I mean a lot, I mean A LOT more than SUPER BOWL! We're talking about lives here..ones tha can never be replaced. Yeah, victories can be celebrated for, just like a new life that has begun has, but how about losses? You can only mourn for a few days, and you're back, cheering on hockey. A human life is waay more important than any old cup, or what ever that thing that those footballers are literally fighting for at the Super Bowl.I just don't think this is fair…Super Bowl…it's just football!!! And everyone just gets sooooooo taken away with it. Everywhere, and I mean everywhere on the T.V., all talked about the Super Bowl, while no one, reported about earthquakes! Heck, I'm beginning to think the media's not trying hard enough to bring their viewers news that actually interests us, like a murder or robbery. They don't even know, some of us, are bored to death with all the talk about Super Bowl.

the super bowl,,what happens in india is not our concern,we need to help those inside our borders who need it and stop trying to fix all the worlds problems.

What earthquakes?? Come on don't diss the Super bowl, I mean it is the Superist of all the Bowls!!
Of course people's lives are more important. but come on, we hear about death and murder every single day. Can't we just hear about something other than death for one day??

There are people dying in Africa from aids also, what would you like us to do about it? Should I sit here and cry my eyes out? Give us a break, a little less crap about the misery of the world and just a little enjoyment is what some of us would like to have.
It's not that I don't feel for these people but everyday you read the news. It's death death death and more death. I don't know about the rest of you but a little distraction from this keeps me sane.

The Superbowl. We know its going to happen at a given time and can plan to watch it happening.
Earthquakes, Famine, War are always there. The only thing is, we dont know exactly when they will happen and because of Politics, we would not be able to prevent any of them

It depends on ones perspective.
If I were in Africa it would be the former of course. But the further one gets from the earthquakes the more they get distracted by things like The Super Bowl, Super Tuesday, or even wasting time on the internet helping Yahoo!'s futile effort to create an online user created information database thats competitive with Google or Wikipedia.

Please tell everyone exactly what you personally did about the earthquake, then we can follow your example.
