What do you do if you are driving along the interstate and a tornado comes?

Tornado
I live in Alabama. We have just been released from work due to severe weather and Tornado warnings. Schools have been cancelled as well as daycares all over town. I have a long drive home. I work in the city but live way out in the country. I am driving about an hour down the interstate (no ditches that I can think of) and then 20 more minutes down back country roads. What should I do if a tornado comes??

You should get out of the car and lie down flat and cover your head. Ditches often fill with rain anyway so that’s not always a good idea and try not to get under power lines. Can you find a place in the city to go until the storm passes? That would be the best thing to do to avoid getting caught in your car because you can’t always see the tornadoes as they can be wrapped in rain. I live in Texas so I understand your concern. Good luck and be safe.

I guess the best thing you should do is maybe stay put, or find the closest relative or friend who may have a basement or cellar at their home in case one hits. Go with your gut instinct and keep your eyes open if you decide to travel if one is coming your way i recommend you try to get as far away of it as possible and get as low as you possibly can and cover your face from flying glass or debris.
