What do they use portable seismographs for at construction sites?

I understand what the instrument does but I’d like to know it’s use at a construction site…..thanks ![]()

they are used for testing ground stability a sound wave is passed into the ground and picked up by the seismograph the results are studied and can tell the construction company about the makeup of the ground

To measure the movement of the ground to adjust their drawing for the predicted drift.
Also to measure for possable sewer, water and storm drain breaks.
