What are your experiences with tornado warnings ? what do you do when one is issued ?

I live in Northeast Columbia, South Carolina and tornadoes never occur in my area so i never experienced one and I don’t want to experience one either. So what do You do when a tornado warning is issued for your area ?

If it’s just a watch, then I simply keep the radio or TV on (many cable providers can activate them remotely, too). If it’s a warning, then I’m going to take shelter; I’ve been through a couple of tornadoes, and I do NOT take them lightly.
I grew up in Tornado Alley, and I’m a trained storm spotter. They’re very interesting, but never kid yourself that they’re not potentially deadly. If in doubt, take cover.

Tornado’s happen all the time here.
When the sirens go off, we go outside and try to find it…we never do tho

Look outside, and if the sky isn’t pitch black, i continue what i’m doing.
90% of the time when a tornado siren goes off there isn’t a tornado

I live in Kansas. My middle name is tornado. But honestly, they never hit anywhere near so it’s not a big deal when we get a warning. We just sit there and continue what we’re doing.

there are no tornados in the middle east but there are desert storms.. but but u have to know which desert storm the warning is about.. the natural one or the man made…

when we experience a tornado warning, we usually just go chill in the basement until the weather guy says its all clear

Usually the weather guy will let people know where the tornado has been spotted..i have went out looking for them if they are not to close to my home..last summer there was one right on the out skirts of my town that my boyfriend and i watched. If the tornado is in town i will head to my basement with my dogs.
