By natural disaster I don’t just mean a hurricane or volcano..ect I mean a specific natural disaster that happened. Also by report I mean an information text.

I dreamt that my mom, stepfather, fiancee and I were at a crowded beach on a cloudy day. It was strange because we were up at the highest point and there were 3 rows of seats as if it were stadium seating at a movie theater, all empty except for us. They were getting bigger and bigger and closer and closer to touching our feet. People were still in the water and then a massive one rised up and as I’m watching, I’m so scared and telling my family that we have to leave and no one wants to. As it reached it’s peak a Big beautiful angel wearing a white robe and HUGE white wings, flies out of the ocean and into the tsumani. I ask everyone if they saw it and no one else did but me. The tsunami crashes on the beach and the water finally reaches us waist high. We get up out of our seats because we are wet and go to the board walk and then I’m at "home". In the room I grew up in my mothers house with my fiancee’. This dream bothered me so much I need to find out what this means. Please help

i am doing a homework assignment and i need a graph that includes some sort of information on this.
because i’m doing it on the effects of tsunamis, but i can’t find any kind of graph that shows some sort of reading that caused a tsunami, in comparison with other events and their readings.

Ever since the Easter earthquake, I have been really tense and paranoid. I know the "big one" is bound to happen sometime….. and I also know that you can’t predict earthquakes… but I’m sure scientists have made estimates of when it will strike. And if it strikes LA, how badly will it affect San Diego? And will this "big one" cause a tsunami?
Or does it just appear that way? Is it normal for earthquakes to happen in series like this?
I’ve looked on the USGS site and I can see that earthquakes happen every day but how does this year (and last year) stand up to past years?
I haven’t always been up on world news but now I am very into the news…so I’m not sure if it’s just that I didn’t notice it in the past.
BTW, I know there are other places to ask this but I normally get good activity/answers here. 
I think it is easier to blow this off because there is nothing anyone can do to stop an earthquake or tsunami. I discovered after the earthquake in Haiti (right after the earthquake in Eureka) by looking through the earthquake reports that earthquakes do happen everyday. However, I also feel that this is something that you would have to calculate. The information is there for the public, it’s just a matter of who is willing to sort through it and compare it previous years. I don’t have time to do that because I only have a computer at work.

I don’t think it’s the end of the world but I do think our Earth is shifting and changing. Those of us who are fortunate to survive this shifting are going to really enjoy the new Earth.
I am not a "gloom and doom" kind of person but I live in SF, it is very realistic that a big one might hit here in the near future. I feel that something is up with the world.
It seems like all corners of the world are helping out with donations to help the impoverished country and many countries like the United States, Great Britain, Mexico, and Canada are on the island with some troops and doctors trying to help out as much as they can.
I’m very young but never in my life have I seen the world come together to try and help out for such a disaster. The closest before was the tsunami in Indonesia.

some says tsunami is caused by earthquake, landslide, eruptions, etc.. and tidal wave is caused by the moons gravitation… i believe in this statement.. because the word tide in high tide and low tide is there.. and it is cause by the moon’s gravity… if so… how does pulling of the moon’s gravity makes the tidal wave??
As you may or may not have heard, a devastating 8.8 earthquake struck Chile earlier this evening, and our USGS Immediately issued warnings in Chile and the surrounding regions about the likelihood of a tsunami.
Much like Haiti, you can be sure that Chile will require an outpouring of international help to rebuild from this catastrophe. My question is, where should that help come from? Should it continue to come from the United States, given how many other resource draining situations we are already involved in? Should we provide intelligence and effort coordination, helping other aid and what not get where it needs to go, or should we do something like send money and food and stay the Hell out of the way?

I asked a question about Hawaii and their Tsunami’s and one guy said that Los Angeles could end up having a 7.9 earthquake because of the Tsunami that could be hitting the coastline.
I have some concerns about moving to Florida, because of all of the natural disasters that’s been going on lately..

I am aware of the hurricanes, but usually they give you a head-sup on those. I am talking about disaster that people can’t "predict" hitting a certain area 100% and that will just hit without no time of warning that could help people escape?!
This website is supposed to be all about predicting events that will happen in the future. It supposedly predicted the events on Sept.11th and Hurricane Katrina and few others that have come true.
The latest prediction is that there will be global devestation in late Dec.2012. Here is part of the article :

Are these just dreams?I live in Tampa area. About 7 years ago i had a strange dream. I was in my parents back yard and looked towards the southeast and saw a mushroom cloud. I knew in my dream it was Miami. Was scary dream and even though miami is about 7 hours drive , there was rocks falling on my head. Move forward. About 5-6 months before Tsunami’s i had dreams of giant wave coming towards gulf coast of florida. Never thought about dream until Tsumani happend. Move forward. About 6 weeks before Katrina had another dream of a big wave but seemed to be caused by storm. Now i remembered 1st dream about three weeks ago when i had another one where i was high above a stadium looking down at it. 3 objects went down into the stadium and saw a big blast. In my dream i knew that the stadium was in Miami. The next thing is i was standing on ledge of a building and that building and all of the other buildings started falling but not like the WTC but like cig ashes. Is this just a dream

was in an office and they had a security camera working.seconds before the earthquake hit the dog took off running to go outside,i guess he knew where a door was open.i guess its true about animals knowing when something bad is going to happen.think people said the same things about the elephants in indosnesia with the tsunami.ill try to find a link for it but i seen it on my local news about the dog

Or are earthquakes so sudden that they can’t really be predicted?
I noticed they began setting up a tsunami warning system for the Indian Ocean after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in that region in 2004.
I realize that they can study the movements of tectonic plates and predict frequent earthquake locations based on fault lines, but how far in advance can people be warned?
When in fact a tsunami rarely reaches no more than 12in until they reach shallower water. There power is from the momentum they been carrying for X amount of miles. Usu sally created by earthquakes, or underwater volcano’s and what not….
Why do you think some movies construe a tsunami as a big wave?
So I have to do a speech on tsunamis and must have a visual aid as well. I wanted to do show how each tsunami forms under each different cause. So I was planning to cut the posterboard into like maybe 8 by 8 inches and having how a tsunami forms with an earthquake on one and etc. Problem is::: I can’t find any clear and big picture demonstrating this. I’ve come across two pictures but they are definately not high school material and they don’t really even make much sense to me.
So if you can find any picture that shows how it forms in each situation, I’d appreciate it(:

Earthquakes are a part of Earth’s natural growth, but why are we having so many of them in such rapid succession? It was the the big one off the coast of Asia that set off the largest Tsunami in human history, the one in China, and now the huge one in Haiti. What is going on here with Mother Earth?

I think we all know tsunami’s are not joke after what they did in Indonesia.
Often a tidal wave can appear enormous and some tsunamis are not, but tsunamis cause untold devestation I know that tsunamis are often caused by earthquakes happening under the ocean, but what actually happens that makes the tsunami so much more destructive than the ordinary tidal wave?
