Okay so, whenever I bring up the subject of our baby, he either just says "yeah", changes the subject, or whatnot. This pregnancy was unplanned as I was on birth control, but the minute i found out I was excited — he wasn’t. He has adjusted since then and knows he’s gonna be a dad and that he’ll be in the picture. The thing is, whenever I bring up a baby topic, he doesn’t wanna talk about it. He has no interest of going to any doctor apointments, seeing the ultrasound pictures, or even watching the videos I made of my belly move like an earthquake (baby never moves when he’s around lol). I confronted him about it today and he said I should know how he feels. But the thing is, he doesn’t notice how I feel about things like that.. he said since his job is only temp, he’s worried about getting a job, and the potential job he might get requires him to be out of town, maybe even out of state for schooling for a while and he’s scared i’d leave him.
We’re both in our 20s and adults and I’m trying to convince him that we’re in a serious relationship and it just doesn’t end like that if our feelings are true. But nonetheless, tonight he said he’s upset and wants to be alone right now..
How can i possibly deal with this?? I’m not looking for hand-to-hand support, but i feel like he resents me because of the baby and when i ask him about it, he gets upset..
I was just listening to Pat Robertson on You Tube. Terrorists do take advantage of political changes, 1993 (Clinton), 2001 (Bush), 2007 (New Congress?). Not a big leap to think of a terrorist attack in 2007. Kind of an anti-climax announcement.
But it did get me thinking, how many people actually prepare for a possible disaster by having a few days of food around, flash lights, medical supplies, that kind of thing. The normal Red Cross Be Prepared kind of thing.
All the "Oh my God the world is going to be destroyed by…" Nuclear war, global warming, terrorists, hurricanes, tornadoes, infestations of caterpillars, etc can leave this one alone.
I just want to know how many reasonably normal people have checked out ready.gov and have some emergency supplies around in case of a disaster.
Thanks. The ratio of real answers to silly answers tells me a lot too. Looks like if there was a major disaster any major urban center in the country things would end up a lot like they were in Louisiana. On the other hand, it kind of looks like people in rural or suburban areas might be better prepared. Kind of a common sense thing I would guess. some kind of ratio of storage space versus costs versus convince and availability, I would assume.

For those living in Florida, it is important to be familiar with and adhere to the basic three step hurricane preparedness plan.
STEP 1. Buy enough food and bottled water to last your family for at least three days.
STEP 2. Put these supplies into your car.
STEP 3. Drive to Nebraska and remain there until Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, statistics show that most people will not follow this sensible plan. Most people will foolishly stay here in Florida. We’ll start with one of the most important hurricane preparedness items:
HOMEOWNERS’ INSURANCE: If you own a home, you must have hurricane insurance. Fortunately, this insurance is cheap and easy to get, as long as your home meets two basic requirements:
(1) It is reasonably well-built, and…
(2) It is located in Nebraska.
Unfortunately, if your home is located in Florida, or any other area that might actually be hit by a hurricane, most insurance companies would prefer not to sell you hurricane insurance, because then they might be required to pay YOU money, and that is certainly not why they got into the insurance business in the first place.
EVACUATION ROUTE: If you live in a low-lying area, you should have an evacuation route planned out. (To determine whether you live in a low-lying area, look at your driver’s license; if it says "Florida", you live in a low-lying area.)
The purpose of having an evacuation route is to avoid being trapped in your home when a major storm hits. Instead, you will be trapped in a gigantic traffic jam several miles from your home, along with two hundred thousand other evacuees. So, as a bonus, you will not be lonely.
Of course these are just basic precautions. As the hurricane draws near, it is vitally important that you keep abreast of the situation by turning on your television and watching TV reporters in rain slickers stand right next to the ocean and tell you over and over how vitally important it is for everybody to stay away from the ocean.

Is it really that hard to believe? Me and my mother have this awkward "gift" and we often dream of a certain natural disaster that many times ends up happening. For example, exactly 7 days before the big tsunami in 2004 I dreamed of a tsunami and even told my parents and one week later it shows up in the news.
Studies show that many animals can sense an earthquake or other natural disasters days before they happen. Could it be that some humans might also have this sensitivity and can only demonstrate it through their subconscious?

It has been reported earlier in newspapers that some countries, perhaps USA and Russia were developing ETDs (Earthquake Triggering Devices) as weapons of mass destruction, which could be used after ascertaining the fault zones in the earth. Later some terrorist outfits obtained such devices from members of earstwhile USSR. If any terrorist organisation chose to use such a device against India, it would use either on15th August (Independence Day) or 26th January (Republic Day), and few years back an earthquake hit the western region of India (adjoining Pakistan) on 26th January. I think mines would be when I dreamt that that my dad was the leader of a cult. And he told me that in order to follow in his footsteps and become the leader of the cult also I would have to chop off my legs. So I ended up chopping them off and going around in a wheelchair for the rest of my life… only later to realize that my dad never chopped of his legs and had two perfectly good ones. I was so furious! I woke up crying and everything hahaha. Probably in second place would be when I dreamt I woke up and saw San Francisco after the next "big on" (as in earthquake) from my house (I live on a hill and have a view of the whole city, well like downtown and the bridge and other parts). This is actually a rhetorical question but please read on, this may be our chance to do something about this crisis.
For to long now we have been hearing that the price of oil per barrel is being controlled by supply and demand. Well recently we have had a breathtaking spike in prices due to Hurricane Ike because the oil producing factories in Texas had to shut down. Meaning that supply temporarily went down meaning price per barrel should go up!
Then if they aren’t lying to us how come when i log into my yahoo homepage why do i see the price per barrel shot down ????? But since there is less oil that means demand is up if 20% of our America’s oil supply is cut off right now!
Sounds like we are getting screwed and bush is getting one last big paycheck before he leaves office!
Oh and how come they get to hike the prices on this gas when they had already paid a set price for it???
When your company you work for shuts down do you increase the price for your services by a drastic amount because you shut down for a week or two? Why should they be allowed to in this time of economic strife when they are still making billions a year now in record profits?
Pass that on to your state elected officials maybe now we have the tool and evidence we need to up the pressure and finally put enough of these oil crooks behind bars and scare the others into fixing the prices back where they should be!!!!
My prayer for now and not just because of prices is this, "please god let someone discover a source of renewable energy to replace oil that is safe for our beautiful planet you gave us!"

Natural disasters have struck many civilizations at different times since man first built cities. If a natural disaster big enough to cause one of today’s cities to disappear, what artifacts do you think would remain? How would the historians of the future be able to determine who the inhabitants of the "lost city" were and how they lived?
Over the last 10 minutes I’ve seen 3 questions, asked by Christians, wondering "who do atheists cry out to, when no humans can help?". Obviously assuming that atheists cries out to the Christian version of a god, in their biggest hour of need. Cute.
Made me wonder if for Christians it works the same. Let’s assume there is an earthquake. A big one. You panic, pray to God to save you and your loved ones. But God doesn’t help you like you hoped. Your loves ones die, you lose both your legs.
At the next earthquake, a year later, who do you cry out to, to get some better help? Zeus? Thor?
Or could it be that maybe you still don’t see Zeus or Thor as real? Like, the same way atheists don’t see your particular version of a god to be real?

3 nights in a row i have had these weird ass dreams about China and North Korea. And their starting to freak me out. In 7th grade, i dreamnt that i was in a building and then out of nowhere there was this big ass flood everywhere, and when i woke up the next day on the news there was the whole Indonesia flood. Then also i dreamed about the earthquake in like China and then i woke up and 2 days later it happened.
But these have been different. In the dreams, nothing was happening to them, it was happening to us because of China and Korea. i have nothing against them just so you know. but my first dream was about me at home and then out of nowhere i see on the news that Arizona was bombed and millions were dead. then i woke up.Then the next night, this dream lasted like a couple of seconds, i was in Canada and then Quebec was bombed and some stranger told me that China and Korea teamed up and are trying to take over the world. Then again i woke up. but last nights was the worst of aaallll.
It all started with me watching the debate on the news, and i was hanging out with christina,jerica,aron love, eddy sanches, tina truong, and meriah visoki. Then we hear those alarms outside that indicate that were getting attacked by a nuclear bomb, and i look outside and everyone running and they dont know where to run. and we all just stay together and duck inside some weird building. I’m still watching tv and i see that Texas and 2 other states had already been bombed and now it was happeing to us. so then Eddy grabs an unbrella and hides unde there (weird i know…) and then as i get down theres this huge bright flash. After the flash everythings on fire and burning and i hear Eddy say "God Damn!" and then Tinas screams felt so so real and i open one eye and everyone around me in burning and on fire and im just looking and then their skin turns to crisp and then Tina just goes poof and turns to dust. and everyone else is a skeleton and then explodes into dust. and im still alive and looking at everything and i can feel the heat and then i started eating a banana which was really weird….how the hell is it that EVERYTHIINGS burned and out of NOWHERE im eating a really beautiful banana?! how can i even eat when i just saw everyone die. Anyways! It all felt so real and i could feel the heat. i looked at my hands and their ok and im just fine but i look ahead and theres this huge mushroom cloud. Then i look around more and the only person alive is Christina Tran. With her beautiful eyes and skin and hair shes the only pretty thing around me. Everyone else is dead and ashy but then theres this beautiful woman while everything else is up in flames.
These dreams are freakin ridiculous. im hoping they end soon, i dont wanna see anymore of my friends go up in flames.
I think so. They are not sure yet. Im watching the news. Apparently, a landslide from the island "Cape Verde" has fallen into the ocean and that might send a tidal wave going towards the east coast of the united states. They are not a 100% sure yet but I think it is. Well, God is certainly gonna teach us a lesson if it is.

As a newlywed living far from home in Lisbon, Portugal, I was awakened during the middle of the night…….the sound of buildings heaving against the tremors….the sound of things crashing to the floor….the floor moving under my feet. I was terrified and ever since, I have been unable to step on uneven ground. I can still feel the overwhelming sense of being unable to control anything….not knowing what to do and where to go….35 years later it still haunts me. My daughter now lives in Los angeles and I have nightmares about her being caught in an earthquake. If you experienced a similiar situation, has it had a long-term affect on you?
