Global earthquakes are more dangerous than global warming.

How should we stop global earthquakes? Is there something I can buy like green products to stop them?

What can government do to stop global earthquakes? Are humans to blame for global earthquakes?

I saw a study today that said the bees are mysteriously vanishing and that this is a major threat to the world’s food supply. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/honeybee_die_off

Since Global Warming, Hurricanes, and Terrorism have all been laid at his feet, how long before dying bees is added to the list of his sins?

Ignorant answers encouraged.

The issue is caused by industry and personal choices.
The effects may have major implications for the economy, health care, immigration, disaster relief, and the availability of water, food, and energy.
Deciding how to respond involves decisions on personal and societal mores and values.
The solutions must encompass industrial policy, transportation policy, regional planning, energy policy, international relations and collaboration, and so much more.

Since it’s such an all-encompassing scenario, starts with people and ends with effects on people, and since most of the human scope of the effects are not studied or addressed in the course of environmental science, why does it get tucked away as an "environmental" issue? Most of us see the "environment" as being something outside of "us." Sure, the environment will change along the way, but isn’t the issue far broader and greater, and ultimately more about our choices, and the effects those will have on us?
My guess is that it’s a calculated political move to marginalize support for responses to global warming. Environmentalists embrace it, while everyone else is glad it’s off their plate. Environmentalists can lead the charge tadn the rest of us can wait to see how it turns out. Isn’t that why after 20 years none of the other disciplines is responding (architecture, regional planning, etc)? It’s not their problem.

This is what prompted me to ask the question:

"Disaster preparedness is not an environmental problem." It is a hallmark of environmental rationality to believe that we environmentalists search for "root causes" not "symptoms."

Maybe we’re all missing the point by arguing about the causes instead of focusing on the responses?

so ive been thinking, and ive had an idea. i just wanted it to get to you guys. i don’t believe the world will end in 2012, but ive been seeing HOW it COULD happen.
i would first like to point this out; an earthquake struck haiti, a place already struggling.
one month later: an even bigger earthquake struck. not only is this earthquake bringing tsunamis to other countries, it also so happens that the earths rotation has been changed and our day has become shorter. i don’t know about you guys, but when i heard that there was an earthquake powerful enough to change the earth’s natural course, i felt that this is a power that only a catastrophic event could exceed. think about it: a 2012 disaster would have that kind of effect, and possibly worse. do you guys understand?
what else could end the world?
oh yeah, almost forgot that some very unfriendly people in North Korea are ignoring pleads from other countries and are deciding to go on with their nuclear bomb programs. yeah, i find it very possible that north korea could start a nuclear war or just bomb its enemies.
oh yeah, iran is gaining radioactive elements, right? or some country in the middle east, i cant remember…
what else could destroy the world/human civilization?
i heard about this thing called global warming. just a little thing, really, unless the ice caps melt. if that happens, guess what? its been calculated that cities like New York with their huge sky scrapers would be thousands of feet under water.
if i can remember correctly, earthquakes starting up, the ice caps melting, and a nuclear war would kill us all. and it would fit the mayan prophecy of the end of the world.
i don’t really believe the world will end, but i think that its possible, and with the latest events, that possibility is getting even bigger.

I’m hearing that they are but I’m not sure how global warming affects earthquakes?

Even after all the devastation last year people are still not ready for this hurricane season (that started today).
Are you ready?

The news said that over 80% of people have done nothing to strengthen their home.
Over 2/3 of the people have NO hurricane plan (they do not stock any supplies or have any evacuation plan if the need arises)!

If I lived in Florida or Louisiana I would be scared of hurricanes (the hurricane season is getting worse every year because of Global Warming). How can they not have plans to get out?!?
