supply and protocols for hurricane Hannah?
I have a few questions, I haven’t been through a hurricane since hurricane Andrew ( I was a little kid) and dont remember what needs to be done
I live in an apartment in Fayetteville,NC ..and I have a 7wk old baby
Is their an eligibility for staying at ‘safe places’ ?
If so ,what are they and what do I need to bring ? What can’t I bring?
What to do with my cat?
I have renters insurance, but how can I protect my apartment from
damage (we aren’t allowed to penetrate any siding or door frames)\
Sorry about all the questions…I am having a hard time finding answers
and I am a little scared that I won’t know what to do.

hey hun. I live in Fayettnam too. I am not doing anything except taking the loose items out of my front yard. Its not gonna be a big deal. This is no hurricane Fran. Ive been through several here in Fayetteville. Dont worry! Enjoy the scene from your window.
I work at Chuck E Cheese and I wonder if its gonna be closed or not…but itll probably be open!

I also live in fayetteville, NC in an apartment, but i grew up in Florida and have been through many hurricanes. i can say that they were never as big a deal as people made them to be. I dont see a need to go to a shelter or evacuate for hannah unless it strengthens to a cat. 4 or 5, which is doubtful. my suggestion is to have a flashlight and a candle or 2 ready, as well as some water, books, and snacks. Tornadoes are few and far between, but that is the main worry with hurricanes, so I would set up a place for your cat in a bathroom or closet with a litter box, water, & food, and put him/her in there during the storm. Have a battery powered radio (in case of power outages) and listen for tornado warnings in the area, and be prepared if you hear a loud tornado (freight train like) sound to go into the bathroom or closet and huddle down with your cat & your baby if the tornado comes around. Hannah will most likely be no big deal, just a crazy windy storm, and so all information I have provided is really in an extreme "If you are really worried" measure. Oh and dont have your car parked near anything that can fall on it (trees, power lines, ect.) Honestly, in most cases, hurricanes can be kind of fun to sit back and watch from indoors. Hope this was helpful!
