Spanish help, please (translate/correct my Spanish)?
Las tomas de Haiti que nos mostraron después del terremoto no fueron plesentes de ver. (Vocabulary word: La toma (shot, as in picture)) [what I'm trying to say: The shots we were shown of Haiti after the earthquake were not pleasant to see.]
Hay muchas instalaciones que [were destroyed]. (Vocabulary word: instalaciones (buildings)) [There were a lot of buildings that were destroyed]
Aunque yo no estoy en el país, puedo imaginar cuantas gotitas los [Haitians] tenían por el dolor del perdimiento no solo unos de los miembros de sus familias pero perdiendo casi todos de sus [belongings] también. (Vocab words: gotitas, dolor) [Even though i'm not in the country, I can imagine how many tears the Haitians have because of the pain of losing not only members of their families but losing almost all of their belongings/property as well.]
Si Ud. tiene [extra] ropa o comida que puede enviar a la gente de Haiti, envíelas. [I can only imagine] la desespera que ellos están [going through]. (Vocab: la desespera) [If you have extra clothes or food to give to the people of Haiti, (please) send them. I can only imagine the distress that they're going through.]
Also, how do you use the following words in sentences?
1. aventar (to throw)
2. las replicas (aftershock)
3.meter (to go in)
4. los saqueos (raids)

Ok, Argentinan guy here, so my help would probably not be so neutral… but correct on the spanish usage:
The shots we were shown of Haiti after the earthquake were not pleasant to see
translates to:
Las Fotografias que nos mostraron de Haiti luego del terremoto no fueron placenteras de ver.
There were a lot of buildings that were destroyed
translates to:
Muchos edificios fueron destruidos.
Even though i’m not in the country, I can imagine how many tears the Haitians have because of the pain of losing not only members of their families but losing almost all of their belongings/property as well.
translates to:
Aunque yo no estoy en el pais, me puedo imaginar cuantas lagrimas estaran llorando los Haitianos por el dolor de haber perdido no solo familiares, si no tambien todas sus pertenencias y propiedades.
If you have extra clothes or food to give to the people of Haiti, (please) send them. I can only imagine the distress that they’re going through.
translates to:
Si usted tiene ropa extra o comida para darle a la gente de Haiti, por favor, envielas. Solo podemos imaginar el dolor por el que estan pasando ahora.
to throw: Aventar cosas a los ancianos esta mal – Throwing things at the elderly is wrong.
Aftershock : Las replicas del terremoto destruyeron muchas cosas mas – The aftershock of the earthquake destroyed a lot of stuff.
to go in: Para la gente, meterse en los refugios fue muy dificil – its been very hard to people to go in to the shelters
raids: los saqueos fueron muy graves y violentos – the raids were very bad and violent

18 Nov 2006 … hello! not only this word, what ever you need you can translate from one language to another in google translate … you are welcome means 2 things in Spanish … Can you help me understand something in this paargraph? .
