Southern California Earthquake?
Ok, so if you havent already heard we had a 5.4 earthquake now most parents and people (cuz of being stupid or know it alls) think that you dont need to prepare at all or know anythin about what to do durin an earthquake. i was home with my sis and my dog and this was the first bigger earthquake that has struck our house since i was little and i got scared. i dont want stupid answers but im wondering what is the safety thing to do when it does happen because there has become a debate about whether doorways r safer or ducking under a sturdy table is safer or sitting in your bed with a blanket covering you is safer or running outside to a clear opening is safer or even if crouching near an "interior" wall and covering is safer. What do you guys think especially if you have lived through some bad/big earthquakes? is a preparedness kit neccesary since some people say it isnt? and what is an example of an interior wall? and what if you live in a 2story house with the bedrooms on the 2nd fl?

It all dependece on where you live if you live in a place where there big houses or buildings you may want to stay inside also is better because there is many cables outside in the street that can ripe and thats dangerous. Door ways are safe because is one of the strongest places in the house but if you are sleeping and you dont know what to do the safest way is to find a place like a side of your bed where is something falls that it will protect you from letting walls and things fall over you. Also you have to be prepare have some food, water, radio and First Aid Kits because if you stay for days or hours inside your house it will definitely will help you survive. If your parents dont bother to buy everything for an emergency try to get them yourself to be prepare.

Having a helicopter would be nice. I’m sorry, but I don’t think that, in the case of ‘the big one’, anywhere will be safe. There isn’t enough money in California to get me to live there.
