Should the public arm and train themselves to protect themselves and their own families?
Sadly, the selfless heroism of New York’s Police and Firemen manifested on 9-11 appears to not be the “norm”. The public is becoming aware that our family’s, communities and our own health and safety rests in our own hands.
Columbine High School on April 20, 1999: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murderous rampage began at 11 am, and they committed suicide an hour later at 12:08 pm — Police protocols had teams reaching the first victims 4 hours after the first shots had been fired or about 3 pm – victims who would die in the extra half hour it would take before those same police protocols allowed paramedics clearance to respond.
Hurricane Katrina: Officials tasked the National Guard to duties other than providing needed survival supplies and the Red Cross and Salvation Army were denied entrance as evacuation protocals didn’t want any food, water and sanitary supplies getting into the Superdome or Convention Center. It was and is up to the public to supply our own protection and aid.

We should all Maintain the ability to protect ourselves and family. Not to the point of a "public defender" or vigilante. You should know how to defend yourself and not at the expense of the innocent.

The people should take more responsibility for their lives and families but that is not the American "liberal" way. The liberal in our country believes we must depend on our government, on our bureacracy and pay more taxes to make sure its there for us. The conservative believes the individual needs to be ready themselves and be responsible for themselves.
Arming is another issue; you must have the right mentality for it. You must know you can use a weapon if you have too or its just an object and one that can be used against you. It is not for everyone to arm themselves and train with weapons – but those who can – should.

Your individual survival is up to you !
Push comes to shove and there is no constitutional mandate saying the police have to protect you.
The first to go are always the weak and unprepared.

I am very sure guns are proper tools of society. It is easy to remark they cause death and suffering. Who is to judge others intentions and make sure their affected standpoint is different from bias and regard of control. Guns have the effect of man being delivered and respected. Many need not of these theories or concepts regarding true serious men as thugs or criminals just because some want those and believe in virtue or religion. Sure they see Moses or Aaron seeked peace, yet do not care to see how useful wars and guns are. Peace is too low a cost for control or pollution. I like my guns, my car and my naked girl. Sure many will apreciate the kind gesture of experience and privileges, yet not quarrel against rice. Is that some.
