Media coverage of earthquake in China?

Earthquake Questions
I saw a picture on yahoo today of dead children’s feet sticking out of the rubble of a school that was demolished in the earthquake. I found it disturbing and wonder why a journalist would take a picture like that. Do you think he/she was trying to convey to the world how horrible it really is or just cashing in on someone else’s tragedy?

I think the tragedy of earthquakes can be expressed with words better than photographs. That is in extremely bad taste, to photograph the dead in this case.

I listen to National Public Radio and their reporting about the China earthquake is excellent. NPR had 2 senior reporters in China on another story very near the disaster area. These reporters told the story without photos very sensitive descriptive accounts of the horrific tragedy and the gut wrenching sorrow of the survivors. I have mixed feeling about the Chinese Communist government but feel they have responded well, communicated the magnitude of the disaster to their population and their leaders seem sincere in the response. I feel a great deal of compassion for these people enduring the suffering and grief.
