Don’t forget that there was an earthquake in January in northern California AND Seattle, and just over a week ago, there was one in Chicago, I believe a 4.0. There have also been many tiny earthquakes over here in Oklahoma, though it’s more near Jones (closer to OKC). I think it could it be a coincidence, not the end of the world, 2012, global warming (don’t think global warming could possibly cause earthquakes). On the other hand, I’d hate to be living in California, especially somewhere along the San Andreas fault right now. One of the weirdest things I’ve read WAY before all of these earthquakes happening is that I came across a website for Psychic Nikki and she predicted major earthquakes for 2010 including one to happen in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Rome, a tsunami off the coast of Alaska.
Here’s her link (check out the wild weather predictions):

The earthquake in Seattle already happened.

I think it’s just some minor shifting (planetary terms) of techtonic plates in the Earth’s crust.

Heck yeah its wierd.
And now because of the Chile earthquake, the days are milliseconds shorter. It might not be much, but goes to show how powerful that earthquake was. It moved the whole Earth!

Actually nothing too unusual is happening. It happens periodically where there are a sort of swarm of quakes, followed by periods of relative quiet.
As far as the Mayans are concerned, they are not predicting the end of the world in 2012. That is simply the last year in the current "age" or "period" in their calendar, and 2013 will be the start of the next.

Earthquakes lately?
Check back a few years.
This has been going on for decades, centuries, and longer.
From the same site you posted.

And the table about half way down the page here seems to suggest the number of significant qakes is decreasing over the past few years.

So tired of the Apocalypse talk. People do your research. The Mayan calendar works like ours. There is no end, it just rolls over. 2012 is the end of the long term calendar, and thus begins a new one. Just like ours does ever Jan. 1st. The earthquake chains are common. Just before they were not covered by the media like they are now days.

We are not seeing an increase in earthquakes. We are seeing an increase in quakes near cities. Bad luck.

There is nothing unusual about the earthquakes and natural disasters that have occurred recently.
It’s just nature doing its thing. Sometimes coincidences happen. Sometimes these things happen in clusters.
We are not experiencing any more earthquakes than normal, it just may appear that way because we have better global monitoring and better global communication now than in the past.

The stuff that is happening is just coincidence.
What you heard about 2012 is misconceptions that white new agers are exploiting the Mayan culture to exploit ignorance.

Its actually not if you think about it.
One earthquake big enough will trigger others since all plates are moving and will cause disturbances through sudden movements, causing a chain reaction.

For all you people who think these weather anomalies are “normal” im afraid your highly misled. There is a program called H.A.R.R.P (high frequency auroral research project) which is an instrument for studying the ionosphere..this is technology that can drastically change weather at any moment, any location, and any date..this technology has been used for quite a long time..it can cause earthquakes, tsunamis, floods…. There is no question whether this technology exists, do your research and you’ll find it..the interesting thing here is that HAARP activity was noticed before the earthquake in Chile, japan, and Haiti..there is sooo much more going on here behind the screen people wake up
