Is there a military job related to this?

Disaster
I really want a job in disaster relief, well, more so a career. Either as a medic, or lackey, because I love to help people, but I also need to get paid in life, ya know? A friend of mine said that the U.S. Air Force are commonly at disaster relief sites, but I cannot find it on their website. Are there any careers in the military that relate? Thanks very much.

The AF frequently responds to disasters, but there is not a job/career field that specializes in disaster relief. Those individuals are crewmembers, medics, etc, who have a primary military mission.

Check out http://www.uscg.mil > Careers > Enlisted > Marine Science Technician.
The Coast Guard has a rating called Marine Science Technician. Those individuals are responsible for responding to oil spills among other types of disasters.

Try the Army – Civil Affairs does a lot of that.

I would say look into the Air or Army National Guard and try to get into an Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) or Technician position. But you would also have to expect to be deployed on combat tours overseas as well sometimes.
Might look at the Coast Guard? It would be maritime centered but might be something you would enjoy.

Most disaster relief career fields are medical jobs and civil engineering. CE guys do pretty much anything infrastructure related (structures, HVAC, electrical, etc). Often there will be a request out for volunteers to go out and assist.

I was in the navy as a Helicopter air crewman and we were tasked several times for Aid missions. But, No direct job in any service is, execept you might want to check out the coast Guard.
