Is it normal to have this many earthquakes?

I’ve been looking at USGS and there are so many earthquakes everywhere,is it normal to have this many?

Yes it is, the constant shifting of tectonic plates contributes to movement in the Earth’s crust.

There is an earthquake every hour, whether it is small and unnoticable to huge and chaotic. There is an earthquake at least every hour. There are seven or ten major platonic plates that collide and slide and hit together. That’s how the Hawaii islands are formed-they are formed from a platonic plate moving with a thin layer of land-causing volcanoes to form underwater and slowly form into islands.
Earthquakes are caused by the colliding, sliding, or slipping of these platonic plates.

Yep. There are many tectonic plates out there and they often get into conflicts with eachother.

Yes. But your statement is incorrect in part. Except for Alaska, in all of Canada, the US and Mexico there was only one earthquake above 4.0 in the past 2 weeks. That’s unusually quiet.
