If the GOP wins in New Jersey or Virginia, is that a sign of return of GOP tidal wave?

No. I think it’s premature to claim it will be a tidal wave. 50% of conservative still refuse to identify themselves with the GOP. And Virginia is traditionally a "red state"; going "blue," like it did last year, was the first time it did that in over 40 years.

No, they really haven’t done anything to deserve it yet. They need to go and re-examine their core ideas. It might be nice, but in the grand scheme of things not important.

Tidal Wave? I don’t know about that, but the tide is definitely rising, thank God.

I think it should act as a signal to the Dems of what is coming in 2010. They won’t get it though. They’re too intent on shoving through their Socialist agenda.
I don’t think it’s going to be a slam-dunk for the GOP however. The people are going to be somewhat more cautious when voting in the future. I don’t think candidates are going to find it as easy to gain office simply because they have a (D) or an (R) in front of their names. People are going to want to know more about them.

I have compared the listing of previous governorships of both Virginia and New Jersey, and you will be surprised to know, that for a majority of the time, the party controlling the White House DID NOT control the governorships of the aforementioned states.
Over the past 32 years, the party controlling the White House did not control the Virginia’s governorship for 29 of these years.
Over the past 20 years, the party controlling the White House did NOT control the New Jersey governorship for 17 years.
So, to, blindly accuse Obama of a lack of leadership, should these states fall into the Republican column on this coming Tuesday, is a baseless piece of criticism.
