Most definitely you should! I grew up in Thousand Oaks and lived there during the infamous Northridge quake back in the ’90′s. Many homes and other structures in TO experienced a lot of damage including the public library. TO is very close to major fault lines. You would be very irresponsible not to invest in insurance.

Uhhh, yeh. Surprised the mortgage company doesn’t require it.
Earthquake insurance has a 10% deductible, though.
I live on the New Madrid fault in TN and have earthquake insurance. I can’t imagine living in CA without it.

I think you find out "IF" you can. But try to find an insurance company that your nabors are not using.
Depending were in Thousand Oaks, you should see if you can find insurance, encase the chaparral starts to burn.
But personally I’m a gambler, I would not get the earthquake insurance, but I would do the basic earthquake prep.
"How quickly can you turn off the gas and is your shelves supported don’t forget you hot water tank.".
I’m sure it is a newer home and unless you have more then a 5.5 there should be no problems with the structure of the house.
Question how much would it cost to rebuild your home if it was unlivable?
I used to travel from San Diego co. to Thousand Oaks, once or twice a month and stay over the weekend.
One night I said to my friend that we should live tonight instead of the next day.
less then 8 hours later, the Northridge quake happened. No problems with either structures but it would have taken allot longer to get home.
