The increase in amplitude is ten times more for each Richter scale if it is sensed from same distance. But it will get reduced by inverse square of the distance as the distances increase from the point of epicenter. If you measure at from same distance the amplitude will increase 100 times more for 6.2 than for 4.2. The calculation is little bit complicated. Approximate shaking will be about 0.1 mm for the Richter scale of 3 if you measure it from a distance of 100 K/M.But the energy release for each Richter scale is about 32 times more .

100 times. It’s a log scale.
