I am writing a short story for a scholarship. It has tornado-warning siren in it, but I don’t know how to describe it with an onomatopoeia.

I’m quite sure that it is the same as the "air raid" sirens they had in WWII. I think they use the same siren for any type of warning that the whole town needs to hear instantly.

It is one longgggggggg noise, not like a police siren or ambulance. Starts out at a low pitch, gets a little higher and stays that way.

And then, that sound that nothing can replicate.
That sound mimicing the base volume of a tuba, trying to climb the tallest ladder in the world.
Finally, the sound escalates from the base note of the tuba, to a train whistles high C, simutaneously stomping on every note between these two on the journey up the musical ladder.
