How can I get involved with Relief Organisations?

My husband and I would really like to join or become involved with some kind of relief organisation; you know, the ones that are always at the front lines when there is some kind of natural disaster, like tsunamis and earthquakes, or famines and the like… They need people to go there and help out, but I have no idea how to go about volunteering for such a thing.
Anyone know??

Here’s a website listing lots of different relief organizations along the right-hand side. You can click on any one of them to get redirected to their website. Just make sure before you get involved that you look for people either online or in your community who can vouch for the organization.

As an example, here’s the employment website for Relief International, but if you’re interested in just volunteering or interning, look under the tab "get involved" for those options

Good luck and good for you for wanting to help out.
