Probably wasn't a coincident at all. When one plate shifts, it will rub against another plate, or slip a bit underneath another plate or perhaps ride on top of another plate. In each case there has to be repercussions of some kind.

In two of the earthquakes (Japan and San Francisco) the plate involved was the Pacific Plate. What actually happened, I don't know. The Pacific Plate was hit or moved and earth quakes occurred on both the west and east sides of the plate.
Indonesia is not on the Pacific Plate, it appears to be on the Eurasian plate and there is a buffer plate ( the Philippine Plate) between the Pacific and Eurasian Plates. The quake in Indonesia may have been a chain reaction. If there had been some minor slippage in the fault area around Somalia and then the shake in Japan occurred , maybe that was all that was needed to cause a slightly bigger shake in Indonesia.

All of the places that you mentioned are on the same tectonic plate. So it may not be a coincidence at all.

Now Indonesia was also affected. Some worst seismic activity is going on. The seismologist are not hearing the usage of my several life saving inventions connected with earthquake and Tsunami. I am the one issued the warning 2 hours before Tsunami struck our Indian coast. For issuing the alert message I used the instrument designed by me for a coast of just U.S.$ 25.No body came forward to find the real fact .It is unfortunate for our world. It may take several decades to make use of my life saving inventions.
