Earthquake proof picture hanging…?

Earthquake Questions
Hi! I live in Hilo, Hawaii where we get earthquakes almost every single day. Well, at least once or twice a month we get one or two that are between 4.0-5.5 area…enough to feel but not enough to do a lot of damage. I have pictures hanging on the walls of my house and almost every time we get the "bigger" ones some of them fall off the wall and the glass shatters. I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips on preventing this? I know if the quake is large enough I won't be able to do anything about it but i'd like to be able to prevent a shattered frame as much as possible.

They actually make picture hangers that are earthquake proof. If your local hardware store doesn't have any, search "earthquake proof picture hangers". They should hold the picture up as long as the wall stays up.

Use velcro.
