Do you see the recent weather and earthquakes as the signs fortold in Matthew 24?

Earthquake Questions
I am not a doom sayer. My question is designed to get people thinking and looking to the signs. We have had 5 – 6 major earthquakes in 2010. Record snowfall in 49 of 50 states. The US economy is on the brink of collapse and a government will not listen to the people. Is this a SIGN?

yes i do. but i also thik that there are other signs that are yet to happen. so, people are getting their hopes up and think that its going to happen within the next year or so, but the bible also says that we do not know the time. so its unpredictable.

Most probably. But "doomsday" isn’t going to be happening anytime soon so don’t worry.

Do you know of anything that reflects a supernatural knowledge in the Bible? Does it speak of the earth being a sphere, or the heliocentricity? Has any prophecy realized itself? Is it anything in the Bible that is beyond what a man from that part of the world and that time could find by himself?
I think not. Furthermore, the world is more than the 50 US states. If it has been cold in some places, this winter, it has also been warmer than usual in other places. It just happens that, this winter, it was colder in the most populated places on earth: east coast of North America, Europe and China. But, between that, e.g. Greenland, the temperature has been higher than usual.
As for earthquakes, I don’t know, this is the Weather section of Yahoo!Answers. But don’t you think that there was an exceptional number of earthquakes, those who know about it would have already told the press and we would read it everywhere? You see, our problem is that good news is no news. We love to read about disasters. When the tsunami wave came to Hawaii, people were very disappointed that the wave was not bigger. … isn’t it sick?

No.
They are signs that the world continues to operate consistently with all the physical laws of nature.
Because the bible contains many stories that are not consistent with the laws of nature, that’s probably not the best place to look to explain natural phenomena. Try a science book.
The Earth has many large earthquakes every year. Below is a link to all the big ones from 2009. From there you can learn about quakes measured in other years.
Record snowfall in the west is due to the fact that it is an El Nino year. Read about El Nino from the second link below.
The US economy *was* on the brink of collapse until we elected a president that actually does care about listening to the people.

No. Religious doctrines are pointless.

The Lord will come when He is good and ready. Mind you, that could be today or years from now.

It is not a sign. It is a year to year thing. Some years you have a lot of weather or disasters and some years very few. But in every year there are big storms, earthquakes and volcanoes.
