Disaster
A coworker told me of a top ten list of natural disaster that came on yahoo recently. He described one of the disasters as occurring about 20 or 40 years ago in some central America country like Ecuador where gas had leaked throughout a city and the gas caught on fire and burned many people. I looked all over and couldn’t find any disaster like this in history. Does anybody know of a disaster like this happening?

Yeah, I remember that. But it was gasoline, not gas. I’m trying to remember the city here, I can’t for sure. The leak was from a faulty gasoline pipe line or underground storage tank. The gasoline got into the storm sewer drains. (the larger rain storm sewer pipes, not the closed system sewer pipes.) People in neighborhoods complained about the smell of gasoline. It was finally ignited some how and blew out the center portion of several streets. I don’t remember any fires. It was an explosion and some people were killed. I believe it was less than 30. Sorry, I don’t remember the details any more, but yes, it did happen.
