Earthquake Questions
The Chernobyl disaster happened in 1986. Five years later the Soviet Union was no more. Could the massive earthquake in Central China, with the collapse of so many buildings and the deaths of so many children have the same effect on their political system?

You can’t show a cause and effect relationship between Chernobyl and the collapse of the Soviet Union. And no, this earthquake will not help end Communist rule in China. In fact, the government in China is doing quite well in their response, even loosening the one child rule, so there is no reason to think this will hurt the rulers at all.
Besides, back in the 1970′s, China had an earthquake that killed hundreds of thousands, and the government survived.
