I know they can sense P-waves before we do, but can they detect danger P-waves 12 hours ahead of time?

P-waves do not begin to propagate until the focus ruptures. Nothing can tell if the rock will rupture ahead of time. So they may feel/hear the waves before we do AFTER the rupture, but they cannot sense anything before it.

no, maybe minutes but definitely not hours, if they did there is no way of telling

no, but here is proof that animals in general can sense the smallest changes in the earths fields, wether it is magnetic or pressure related, but it is usually right before the impending danger happens

Is that in dog-hours?
Actually, dogs may sense an earthquake before we do, because they might be able to feel or hear the p-waves, which travel faster than the s-waves, which are the waves we feel. But they won’t feel an earthquake twelve hours before we do. The p-waves are never that far in front of the s-waves.
That being said, they are not predicting an earthquake before it happens. If a dog starts acting funny before you can feel an earthquake, it’s just because it can sense it before you can. The earthquake had already occurred, but the s-waves hadn’t reached you yet.

No please read this. It can sense few hours before. It is not P wave that is sensed by dog. Still we are in doubt realy what causes for unusual behaviours of animals. I am the person who issued the warning 2 hours before Tsunami struck our Indian coast.
Table Unusual animal behaviors before earthquakes
MammalsNervous, restless, irritated, panic and act “crazy”.
HumanHeadache, nausea, urge to vomit, giddiness, dizziness, heart complaints, nervous
disorders, hysteria, bad weather symptoms.
DogsBark loudly, whine ingratiatingly, anxious. Act as if tracking an unseen enemy; panic and bite owners, bark and pull owners outside, howl insufferably as if they have rabies.
CatsRestless, meow pathetically, take kittens outside, climb high trees, jerk ears, lay ears back, leave home for days, disappear.
RatsDisappear, fuss, panic, running on wires.
HorsesStamp, snort, tremble, jump, buck, fall to the ground.
