Yes, and Yes, California has them, but the smaller jolts hopefully rlelieve the pressure, and make the larger less likely.
Felt it in Irvine California. San Diego definitely should have felt it.
6.9 in Baja Califofnia, Mexico at 3:40pm Sunday, Easter April 4with t wo othes in last 24 hours. Twitter and goole "earthquake" options Latest gives you most up to date accounts. http://www.google.com/#q=earthquake&hl=e…
A logically good choice, however

When the 2008 China quake hit, seismologists predicted that there would be an earthquake very similar in power (and maybe even stronger) that would hit Los Angeles. It may be very likely, seeing as though there have been several earthquakes in the Western Hemisphere this past year (Haiti, Chile, and the past three earthquakes in California). If you live in an older building, I’d suggest seeing if there are more modern buildings nearby for a reasonable price. But I think the option of moving is up to you. :]

That is a statement that you could make at any time on any day and it would be true. Earthquakes are happening somewhere in California all the time, and most of them are not a big deal. Anything under a 5.0 is not even worth mentioning in this state.
Once a decade or so there is a major earthquake, and yes, sometimes a few people die. But thanks to strict building codes that is pretty rare.
If you stick around for another hundred thousand or so years, you might see California become an island. Consider the extra beaches a bonus.
