Yes! Once again the storm is expected to head straight for Texarkana. It isn't supposed to land until tomorrow morning and it's already raining here. They're also saying the storm is so gigantic it will still be a cat 1 even here! Apparently, half of Port Arthur and Galveston are here already (seems like it, anyway). It's a mad house out there and all the stores and gas stations are running out of food and fuel. Local authorities have also warned that we'll probably all lose power & that we may have a tornado outbreak. =O

Compared to this storm, Gustav was a baby.

I hope you will be safe down there! It may be right on top of you in the morning. I hope you have more than peaches and green beans this time. ;) I'll be thinking of you mon ami!

I hope you have a flash light and for goodness sakes, grab the manual can opener and keep it with you just in case the kitchen gets demolished. It would be aggravating to have canned peaches and nothing to open the can with. We just got 7 inches of rain in one night from the last hurricane. I hoping that Ike spares you the destructive winds and just poops out. HUGS

I'm sorry! I hope everything turns out okay! I'm sure it will. My mother lives in Florida and has to worry about hurricanes. It sucks. ((hugs))

Nope... I'm in Chicago where the only thing that can kill me is a periodic tornado or the leaky windows in my 100+ year old apartment in the middle of winter.

Let me make a lifestyle recomendation...

MOVE AWAY FROM THE COAST!!!

If you live on the coast... A hurricain will hur you...
If you live in California... An earthquake will hurt you...

Check out the stats of different areas of the country and MOVE!!

I'm not directly. But here in the Midwest, we are to get a lot of rain between now (Friday) and next Wednesday, once it hits land, we are to get the aftermath.
