just curious about what people think will happen i worry about massive tidal waves and that’s it can you help me out? What do you think the chance of a massive tidal wave is for 2012

There is no scientific evidence so I would say 0%.

Well, there’s appears to be a mind numbing tidal wave of stupefying ignorance piling up as we approach 2012, is that what you meant? 2012 is a HOAX, and a cruel and sick one at that in that it’s gone way too far and people have gotten truly frightened and upset over it. The people still spreading it should be ashamed of themselves..

Tidal waves happen in the ocean twice every day. Massive or not, that depends on geography and moon phase.
There won’t be any special tidal events in 2012.

You need to understand a little physics here.
A tidal wave can’t spring up spontaneously. It has to be caused by something: an underwater volcanic eruption, a massive landslide on a coast, a landslip caused by tectonic shifts.
These events CAN happen but they are few and far between.
Just get on with your life and don’t worry about what MIGHT happen.

Honestly, I do not believe that anything will happen for 2012. Really, on December 21, 2012 at 11:11 (I’m not sure if they mean am or pm), is supposed to be the only day that the sun will be in the exact center of the universe for the next 52 billion years. As you already know, 2012 came from a Mayan calender called The Long Count calender..it’s been determined that the beginning of the current Great Cycle likely fell on Aug. 11, 3114 B.C., making the end of the Great Cycle land on — you guessed it — Dec. 21, 2012.
Regardless of this debate, the Mayan people don’t actually believe the world is going to perish at the end of this cycle. In fact, they believe it’s a time of great celebration and luck when the planet lasts through a full Great Cycle. And after all, it seems we’ve made it safely through past Great Cycles (it’s debated how many cycles there have been) and the world is still turning. Also, to help put this in perspective, chances are good you own a calendar that stops short on Dec. 31 of this year — does that strike you as a herald of disaster or just the sign of a new beginning?
Proponents of an impending December doomsday, however, believe the world will end and all living things on Earth will die. Other people believe it will signify a time of great spiritual awakening or a massive shift in global consciousness. But is this monumental turn of a vast page in the Mayan Long Count calendar really going to end the world or radically alter worldwide perspectives? Probably not.
So what will happen on Dec. 21, 2012? It’s likely that the day will pass with no major events at all. People may not even realize it’s the projected doomsday, although that’s unlikely considering how much press it will probably garner. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
These are some of the main reasons on why I believe that Doomsday is not real.
The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what that ancient Maya recognized as the Sacred Tree.

Also, I don’t think that a massive tidal wave would be possible, mainly because if the world did end, I would imagine that either the sun would explode and we would all freeze to death, or the world will implode, and that’s it. See, like I stated before, the earth has survived other Great Cycles, and it is just fine.

Oh, come on! Why worry only about massive tidal waves? Let’s worry about anything and everything and have some real fun. Massive earthquakes, solar flares, planet X, rogue black holes, Armageddon, Maxwell’s demon, etc., etc…
NOTHING is going to happen. All of the 2012 doomsday talk is pure garbage. All of the supposed causes for this are indefensible.
I have become shocked at realizing that many people have actually been influenced by this hoax to the point of depression.
The Internet has a lot of junk, but we can surely find authoritative information on any subject.
