I’m trying to write an essay and I don’t know what psychologically fault line is HELP!

Michiko Kakutani of the New York Times states that in Atonement, McEwan explores the “psychological fault lines” running through the lives of his characters. Write an essay in which you analyze the ways in which McEwan does this and to what effect.

I look up earthquakes on a daily basis as a hobby. I google, "DID YOU FEEL IT" in the search area and it shows all the latest earthquakes. I have been noticing that Samoa keeps getting hit with large earthquakes but they are not reporting this on the news where I am. What is really going on?
