Ok here is the story.I just need as many opinions as possible. My ex girlfriend decided to end our relationship about a month ago because I was being negative and she just got fed up with it.At first i did all the normal stuuf that goes along with a break up ,the begging, the apologies but i didnt do it to the extreme either. She told me that because of my actions she had taken that decision, that she loved me but she needed space.she told me not to text her and not to contact her because she didnt want to see me.A few days went by and when the waters had calmed down i made contact and we had a good talk.she said that her feelings had changed for me.I told her that I loved her very much and that my heart was always open if she decided to come back at the end of the conversation she said that things could change in a month or two,so that kind of made me feel like if there was some kind of hope.I stopped all contact but i sent her flowers for her birthday and after that I stopped contact again.eight days went by right after her birthday without me making any kind of contact and all of a sudden she texted me asking if i had felt the earthquake that took place in L.A.I just thought that the question didnt make much sense since we both live in san diego and she is asking a day later at 7 am.i did replied back to her.The next day i decided to call and ask her if she would like to get together for dinner or maybe go rock climbing.she said rock climbing was cool .this past sunday after one whole month i got to see her again. That day i went to see her play at her soccer game, from there we went to her house and when we got there i noticed how she still had the flowers i had sent her, they were dry but she still had them.she also had a pic of me and her dog that she took a while back and a candle that I had decorated for her.so we went rock climbing and she was really enjoying it.after taht we went grocery shopping and she told me that she was having fun and that she felt good that i had gone out with her,so we go back to her house and took her dog for a walk, then we went to eat sushi and came back home.I decided it was time for me to leave and so I said goodbye she reached over and gave me a hug. I kissed her in her face and the she looked at me and so i decided to kiss her lips to my surprice she kiss me back not once but three times.she walked me to her door and i hugged her again and kissed her goodbye.we didnt talk about when we were going to see each other again.so I went home and that night she texted me saying tha she was going to bed and thanking me for a very fun day.monday i decided to call and say hi but her voice mail came on and i left a message i figured she was busy.she texted me later on at night saying that she had fun with me on sunday and that we should do it again sometime.my question is if this is a good start?I get a little desperate because she doesnt call me.I wonder if she is just being careful.do you people think that there is hope to restore the relationship we once had?should i continue to pursue her or should i give her some space and wait until she makes contact again? I feel a little confuse here at first she didnt want to see me and then we ended up haing out after a month without seeing each other.so what would be the best approach?continue pursuing her or give her space?
I apologize for mispelling a few words, but I was in a hurry when I wrote this.Any one else has any more opinions? It feels really bad to have spend the whole day sunday with my ex girlfriend specially when she said she was having a good time and not to hear from her.It really confuses the heck out of me knowing that she kissed me.was this a green light?why doesnt she call?

I am going to send an email to those interested in my company which will have facts about local recycling programs, as well as our company recycling program. I also want to include environmental topics. We have local wildlife reserves and I would like to cover the events that happen there, as well as anything cool coming up like meteor showers, eclipses, etc. I also will have info about websites provided disaster relief since hurricane season is coming up.
Any catchy names for my newsletter?

Could you please critique this essay for history? It is about interviewing somebody about a world event.

Even though it only lasted 10 to 15 seconds, this event killed 63 people, injured 3,757 many people homeless, and an estimated six billion in damages. So when I told my dad about the project he immediately chose the date October 17th, 1989, for the Universal Essay where he talked about the 7.0 magnitude Loma Prieta.
On that day, October 17th, 1989, my dad wasn’t doing anything interesting like most people; he was just taking a nap. At a friend’s appartment in San Jose, he was sleeping on the couch like I would expect him to do today. At twenty-five years old, he was new to California and didn’t except many surprises, so he was in for a surprise. At 5:04 my dad woke up, to the breaking of a glass, and looking out the window he saw the tree’s shaking vigorously, and the walls of the apartment jolting. He remembers staring at a glass vase when it fell and broke. It dawned on him that it was an earthquake, and he looked for cover. In panic he said, he dove under the couch however it would only fit his head.
After the earthquake was over, his friend came back to see if he was okay, and his head was stuck underneath the sofa. So after he got out, he saw that a lot of things broken like, the glass that fell to the floor that woke him up. He then remembers rushing outside and seeing everybody out, some with scrapes and bruises, but overall it was okay. There were lots of helpful people the time after that, handing out food, and water. Everyone was so nice, talking to strangers, and helping one another out. Mostly he forgot because he was drossy from the nap.
I think my dad was a fair source of information because he did tell me what he was doing, and the event in a picture that I could understand. He told me somewhat of what the room looked like, and understood the event he did by telling me details of the details of the quake. The thing that didn’t make him an excellent source was because he was sleeping until the event, so he wasn’t fully conscious while witnessing it. My first reaction to my dad’s story was laughter, because I couldn’t imagine him getting stuck under a sofa, panicking, or as a twenty-five year old. But after I got over that fact, and saw how many people died, it was very sad, however he went on about how everybody was so kind after, it was very uplifting to know that the people were so unselfish. Even though this event was still a tragedy, the Loma Prieta earthquake can also be seen as a heartwarming story where not only thousands of Californians worked and helped together in a disaster, but the rest of the United States watching and aiding them.

THANKS :D
Hailei

Please, let’s be scientific. If you claim that it is true that animals can predict earthquakes, then what is the solid evidence? We need something more than the apocryphal anecdotes that seem to float around of how the animals were acting strangely before some historical earthquake.

I know that the Mayan calender ends in 2012 (Dec 23 if im not mistaken) and a lot of people think it either means the end of the world or just that it was the end of THEIR calendar…but, I have also recently heard the whole theory of ‘planet x’ or ‘Niberu’<spelling that is basically a planet out of control that will not hit the earth but will throw off the magnetic fields of the earth and cause earthquakes, tsunami’s on a scale not known by man.. there are also pictures of this so called planet x on youtube, is there any truth to this.. what are your thoughts..?

i live in some condos in a very small but snowy town. and the dumping ground for all the extra snow from the roads seems to be right behind my building. (like 50 feet away). normally i wake up about 4 or 5 on snowy days to the sound of dump trucks.

well it didn’t snow today but i guess someone decided that tonight they would call in every noisy dump truck in town to behind our condo. there are at least FIVE beeping, loud, thunderous trucks shoving snow around and its almost one in the morning! every light, picture frame, dish and tv is rattling as if in a constant earthquake. MY WHOLE APARTMENT SOUNDS LIKE ITS UNDER ATTACK!

what can i do? who can i call to see if they can do this during the day? this is ridiculous! i have a 3 month old, and my husband works early in the morning- sleep is precious! any ideas??? please?

"I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place."

Unfortunately, Raquel’s parents were in the kitchen when the earthquake struck. The funeral was taken place a week later and now Raquel is battling depression forcing Arturo to quit his day job and stay home to take care of their 3 children while Raquel is off talking to her therapist. This had gone on for about a year when Raquel decided to finally end her life by hanging herself off of the ceiling fan. She was found by her youngest child, Olga, who then had psychological nightmares for the remainder of her life time.

I of course would like to apologize to the world as well. I am sorry that my tax dollars go to paying dues to the useless UN. I am sorry that we are not feeding hungry Americans with that money. I am sorry that my tax dollars go to disaster relief to ungrateful countries. I am sorry that the US gives any military aid to the misogynistic theocracy that is saudi arabia.
