Help. I have resided in FLORIDA in my home for years.
After Hurricaine Wilma I had a fence replaced . I went by my survey and the city of Wilton Manors inspection passed the fence.
My new next – door neighbor who recently purchased the property states that according to the survey he had done,My fence is 2 feet on his property.
He wants a fence up on his property line.

I don’t want to get caught up in a law suit or spend money needlessly.
I plan on staying in my house for long time.
Any thoughts?
The City who passed the inspection on the fence holds no liability?

My first question was accidentally deleted so I need to ask again. How do you get rid of the "moire" effect when taking photos with a digital camera. I am using a Nikon D40 and took some pictures of an earthquake damaged building and it has considerable moire effect. I have Adobe CS2 – what is the procedure to get rid of it in the existing picture and how do I set the camera to avoid when taking similar photos?
Here is an example:

If, for millions of years, the west side of the San Andreas fault has been moving northwesterly to the east side, should not the mountainous coastal land mass south of where the fault enters the sea (at Daly City) have formed a peninsula by now? (PS: for whoever answers this question, I will appreciate
your looking at my Geology question # 2, relative to the Alburqueque rift valley also). Thanks.

If an earthquake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale, what was the intensity of the earthquake?
Use the formula M= log (A / A(base o).

I often heard stories of people predicting earthquakes because they can "feel it in their bones." I have a similar story myself. Every once in a while, I’ll get a distinct pain in my right kneecap. Between one and three days later, I come to find out that there had been an earthquake, but the quirky thing is that the earthquakes that happen are NEVER local. Is this just a strange coincidence or could this really mean something?

for example another ice age?
or maybe a "heat" age?

china had too many people there and was putting a strain on the earth, and, some say, thats why the natural disaster occured (earthquake and stuff).

The restaurant I am employed with has been closed for over a month now due to flooding. We were expecting it would be closed for two weeks, MAYBE, but it has turned out to be much longer.

My boss told those of us who work full time that we can file for unemployment insurance, as well as disaster relief. I was waitressing 6 days a week.

So, while I wait for the restaurant to re-open (which will hopefully be in the next few weeks) I have been selling some things that I can do without, babysitting for families as much as I can, and now just this week I have decided to file for unemployment and the disaster relief.

The unemployment is something that will effect the weeks from now until I am able to work at the restaurant again, and the disaster relief is back pay for this past month.

My questions:

Is unemployment or disaster relief something that I pay back, like a loan, or is it more like a "grant." – For lack of better metaphor?

Will this increase the taxes I pay month to month? I told them to take income tax out of the checks right away.

Will this affect my credit score?

Thank you for any info you can provide.

Does anyone even care? I mean with the fast paced life we live in…..Does anyone even realize what "we" are doing to Mother Earth? I wonder………well, the Ice (polar cap) is melting at an
abnormal rate than it should. The Oceans are rising, The Volcanos are acting up, Tsunami’s are wiping out not one but several "Countrys" at a time! and the Thousands of lives taken?
Tornadoes in California? Earthquakes at their deadliest! really hot summers and freezing winters! The sting on my skin from the sun indicates lesser protection from our Ozone…….Sound like nonsense? Global Warming! is the reason I feel. So now what should "we" do to stop the distruction before it’s to late?

Asking for experienced answers – I live in Palm Beach Gardens in an apartment complex on the second floor.. I have a sliding glass door and numerous large windows.. just curious that if a hurricane does hit, do I need to take further precautions, or would my impact glass suffice (new to the area, will be first hurricane haha) Thanks!
i forgot to add this if it matters.. my complex is only about 4 years old…

Seems pumping out the oil and water has allowed the core to heat up and melt the surface ice .
Those pictures of water under the Ice showing how it allows the ice to slide off into the ocean is right .
Its just that that water is there because the earth is warming up from inside . Thats why we have been having Earthquakes and more volcanic activity .
The oil helped keep the core cool . It was thick and cooled off as it came in contact with the cold earth surface and then as cold things do in fluid dynamics sank keeping the heat from melting and baking the surface .

Scientists and uninformed citzens have been predicting the big one since the beginning of time. Everytime we do have a major earthquake (we never do) they still claim its not the big one. Its all bs. California earthquakes are nothing in comparison to the damage sustained from hurricanes and tornados.

We live paycheck to paycheck. Made the mistake of moving to Florida. We got here a year before all the hurricanes started coming (we’ve been hit by 4 directly). Now housing is through the roof and even if we could get a place (we rent right now) the insurance co’s are running like rats on a sinking ship and the ones that are staying are raising their rates 50 – 99% (no joke). We want to move to Colorado but have no extra money. There’s really no expenses to cut to save, except to stop eatting. Last year we lost 00 because of lost food, ice, batteries and other emergency supplies thanks to the hurricanes. It’s like a trap, we can’t afford to live here and can’t afford to get out! Open to suggestions. Thanks.

There was a TV Show in the 1990′s (or mid to late 1980′s?), I think a chick-flick series about romance like "Thirtysomething" or "Once and Again" (but I’m not sure). One of the two big California earthquakes damaged their sets so much they shut it down instead of spending more money to fix everything and continue it. It was a new series that hadn’t aired yet, so they weren’t going to go beyond the usual financial risk for it. The actors I believe were let out of their contracts to go do other things. Later the episodes that were produced did air (less than a season since it didn’t premiere yet), maybe 6 to 12 episodes or so, and the Critics and viewers loved it and it got good or okay ratings but it was too late to bring it back.

What was this show? I read about it in a newspaper years ago so I know it happened.
